by MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Industry veteran Drew Sweeney has joined Hooker Furnishings as vice president of sales, domestic upholstery.
He started the role around the April High Point Market, having previously been vice president of sales, marketing and merchandising for the case goods division at La-Z-Boy for more than 10 years.
He was previously executive vice president of sales and marketing at Sherrill Furniture and before that was vice president of sales and marketing at Hickory Chair.
Before this, he spent just over 13 years at Hickory Springs Manufacturing Co., where he held a number of executive roles, including product manager, sales manager and general manager of the company’s metal division. He also was national director of sales.
In his new position, he will oversee sales for the company’s domestic upholstery division, which includes HF Custom, Bradington-Young and Shenandoah as well as outdoor furniture resource Sunset West.
