HIGH POINT — Architectural and Interior Designer Ray Booth will debut his fourth furniture collection at the Spring 2025 International Home Furnishings Market in High Point in partnership with Hickory Chair.
Following the success of his previous collections, the latest Ray Booth x Hickory Chair collection, Tectonic, moves into a lighter, more relaxed space while retaining his signature architectural refinement and exceptional craftsmanship. Inspired by the art and science of construction, Tectonic explores how materials, structure, and design come together to express comfort, beauty, and style.

“We have truly infused comfort into every piece—it is expressed purely within the designs,” Booth said.
Each piece reflects Booth’s passion for architectural form, classic finishes, and timeless design. From chairs and tables to sofas, dressers,
and upholstered bed frames, this collection delivers a sophisticated yet relaxed sensibility.
“Ray’s new introductions reflect a less formal, lighter quality,” said Megan Barrett, vice president, merchandising for Hickory Chair.
A new light finish developed exclusively for oak reflects this softer approach. This natural finish is low sheen, creating a muted presence that casts a casual elegance in every room.
The designer challenged himself to seamlessly blend form with function and beauty with comfort.
“There is a clarity to these designs that feels fresh and different,” Booth noted. “I believe these pieces will inspire new ways of thinking about interiors.
One standout piece, the Rylen Sofa, showcases Booth’s ingenuity. Its angular silhouette encourages dynamic furniture layouts, whether in a traditional rectangular space or a more open, free-flowing environment. There are refined details throughout the offering – from the new custom hardware constructed of browned steel and antique brass to reeded edges on side tables and hardware. This reeded detail is also translated into his upholstery designs.
“Drawing from my architectural and interiors experience, I conceived these pieces from the inside out, with comfort designed into every detail – where structure and support are as integral as style. Beauty starts from within, ensuring that each piece feels as good as it looks,” Booth said.
Booth believes this fourth collection offers more for customers looking for something new while still having confidence in the comfort and quality of each piece. Booth enjoyed playing with new angles and silhouettes.
“Between my architectural training and how I approach design, it’s easy to think in straight lines,” he said. “It’s good to break the rules now and then.” While the designs may take a softer aesthetic approach, the collection pieces retain the refined details and dynamic construction, including faceted construction, browned steel and antique brass hardware, and channel quilted upholstery.
Ultimately, these new introductions serve as a natural evolution of the previous collections – refined yet relaxed, architectural yet inviting.
“My partnership with Hickory Chair has been such a joy,” he added. “As a designer, I love delving into the historical elements of design. Working with them has deepened my appreciation for the level of care and craftsmanship they bring to every piece. Their commitment
to design, quality, and comfort is unmatched.”
