A key takeaway is that more than half of those surveyed said they plan to buy a sofa or sectional during the next several months. The demographic groups planning to buy at the highest rates include those who plan to buy a new home, plus older and younger millennials.

Motion sofas are the preference of many millennials and those with middle and higher incomes, and six out of 10 surveyed are planning to buy a fabric sofa.
