Consumer Insights Now Regional Report 4: Midwest Region

HIGH POINT — This week marks our fourth regional installment of Consumer Insights Now, a comprehensive research report highlighting what consumers plan to buy in the second half of 2022.

This latest installment covers the Midwest Region, with a survey of 416 respondents in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

As with our previous regional reports, the survey asks about the categories of most interest to consumers, along with where they like to shop, where they begin their search for products and what factors drive their buying decisions. In addition, it looks at the share of consumers that buy furniture online, where they find inspiration, and their style preferences.

And once again, the research provides a deeper dive into what they look for in certain categories including bedding as well as upholstery and case goods. Specifically, readers will find what characteristics are most important and also what rooms they are looking to furnish next. 

Outdoor furniture, an increasingly popular category for people around the country, is another key area of consideration. The survey looks at specific uses for outdoor furniture and what types of outdoor accessories are on their wish lists.
