Consumer Insights Now Regional Report No. 2 —The South Atlantic

HIGH POINT – This week marks the second installment of our Consumer Insights Now regional reports — The South Atlantic.

Following on the heels of our Northeast report, this report surveyed nearly 400 consumers in Delaware, Washington, D.C., Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and WestVirginia, asking them what products they plan to buy in the second half of 2022.

The mix of states is perhaps as diverse as any you might find across the country. Yet the report also finds some consistencies too with the national and Northeastern reports, including style preferences, the most sought after categories and where the respondents found design inspiration.

It also looks at where people typically shop for furniture and where they plan to shop in the coming months, as well as where they begin their search, what factors — including price, style and availability — they consider and to what degree they plan to work with a designer in the future.

The types of mattresses they are considering, product characteristics they seek by category and which rooms they plan to redecorate first in the coming months are other areas covered in the survey.
